One board member, Kevin, recently embarked on a heartwarming journey back to his roots in Guatemala. His story is truly inspirational, as he himself grew up at Hogar Miguel Magone and now lives in the United States, working as a pilot for Delta Airlines. His connection to the home and the children we support is deeply personal, and he consistently strives to make a difference in their lives whenever he visits.
During Kevin's recent trip to Guatemala, he went above and beyond to give the children at Hogar Miguel Magone unforgettable experiences. He understands that life is about more than just basic necessities – it's about creating memories and providing opportunities for growth and happiness. With this in mind, he took small groups of children on various adventures, making sure they all had little reminders of life's joys.
Highlights of Kevin's trip include taking the small groups of kids to various restaurants where they played and celebrated. He also organized visits to get haircuts and took several children clothes shopping.
However, the adventure didn't stop there. Kevin's boundless enthusiasm led a group of the eldest children on an awe-inspiring hike up a volcano. This excursion not only showcased the natural beauty of Guatemala but also instilled a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie among the children. It was a day filled with laughter, breathtaking views, marshmallow roasting, and a reminder that dreams can be achieved, one step at a time.
